MELVILLE, N.Y., June 13, 2024– North American Rescue (NAR), a leading provider of survivability and casualty-care medical products to the defense and public-safety markets and a subsidiary of Henry Schein, Inc. (Nasdaq: HSIC), displayed itsEnhanced ARS® (Air Release System)at the First There First Care & Gathering of Eagles Conference.
During the Conference, held from June 10 through June 14 at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Hollywood, Florida, the NAR team highlighted the capabilities of its Enhanced ARS, a 2023 EMS World Innovation Awards Winner, along with its offering of medical kits and equipment designed to deliver life-saving interventions when major trauma is present.
“We were pleased to share our life-saving products, especially the Enhanced ARS Decompression Needle, with medical directors and EMS professionals at this year’s Conference,” said David Davis, Executive Director of Public Safety Sales at North American Rescue. “The Enhanced ARS was developed with inspiration from combat medics, civilian paramedics, field nurses, trauma surgeons, pulmonologists, and emergency medicine physicians, to help correct known deficiencies with tension pneumothorax management.”
Released in 2023, the Enhanced ARS is a needle that incorporates features designed to help improve the safety, efficacy, and speed of needle chest decompression for the treatment of tension pneumothorax. Building on the success of NAR’s ARS® needles, the Enhanced ARS features a sharpened needle tip designed to facilitate precise insertion, three fenestrations in the catheter aimed at enhancing air pressure release, and centimeter markings intended to assist with accurate insertion depth control to help reduce the risk of occlusion.
Many of NAR’s team members are Veterans and previous special operations medics, law enforcement, SWAT and emergency medical services professionals. Its mission is to provide tailored, mission-enabling survivability solutions to counter the rapidly evolving threats of the 21st century.
